No account, order or payment was submitted.<\/p><\/div>\n    <div class=\"uxa-test-brief__item\"><span class=\"uxa-kicker\">06 \/ Recovery check<\/span><p>Submit safe required fields empty, inspect errors and focus, then correct email where the environment allowed.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-uxa-verdict has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><p class=\"uxa-kicker wp-block-paragraph\">The 30-second result<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">JB Hi\u2011Fi wins on price and a calmer staged checkout. Harvey Norman wins on early delivery-cost certainty.<\/h2><p class=\"has-lead-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">JB Hi\u2011Fi listed the identical console for $519\u2014$19 below Harvey Norman\u2014and moved the guest through a clear Customer and Shipping sequence with specific validation. Harvey Norman made its $7.95 delivery fee and $545.95 total visible in the cart, but placed address, contact, fulfilment, payment and order review on one dense checkout page. JB\u2019s final delivery fee was not yet known, so this is not a delivered-price claim.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<nav class=\"uxa-article-nav\" aria-label=\"Article sections\"><span class=\"uxa-kicker\">Jump to<\/span><a href=\"#product\">Product<\/a><a href=\"#cart\">Cart<\/a><a href=\"#checkout\">Checkout<\/a><a href=\"#performance\">Performance<\/a><a href=\"#heuristics\">Expert review<\/a><a href=\"#changes\">Priorities<\/a><\/nav>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"product\">JB Hi\u2011Fi leads with a lower price and immediate fulfilment options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both pages represented the same console and GTIN. JB Hi\u2011Fi showed a $539 ticket price reduced to $519, a 4.8 rating from 670 reviews, a one-year warranty and concrete Melbourne Central collection availability. Delivery to Melbourne 3000 was offered, including an express option where available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvey Norman showed $538, a 4.82 rating from 245 reviews and detailed specifications. Optional Product Care defaulted to \u201cNo thanks,\u201d which preserves control. Its product page is informative, but the price gap is visible before either retailer asks for customer data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-uxa-screenshot\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uxrobot.ai\/ux-audits\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/jb-hi-fi-vs-harvey-norman-harvey-product.jpg\" alt=\"Harvey Norman product page showing the white Nintendo Switch OLED at $538\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Harvey Norman clearly identifies the same console, while keeping its optional cover unselected. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harveynorman.com.au\/nintendo-switch-console-oled-model-white.html\">Open the tested product<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cart\">Harvey Norman resolves delivery earlier; JB Hi\u2011Fi keeps the cart lighter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JB Hi\u2011Fi\u2019s cart retained the $519 console and showed a $519 subtotal, but postponed shipping to checkout. A long recommendation area followed the purchase summary. The selected product remained easy to recognise, yet a Melbourne customer could not compare the final total at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-uxa-screenshot\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uxrobot.ai\/ux-audits\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/jb-hi-fi-vs-harvey-norman-jb-cart-scaled.png\" alt=\"JB Hi\u2011Fi cart showing one Nintendo Switch OLED at a $519 subtotal with shipping calculated at checkout\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The selected item and subtotal are clear, while delivery remains unresolved.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvey Norman required a delivery choice and postcode, then offered standard delivery to Melbourne 3000 for $7.95 in one business day. The total became $545.95 including $49.63 GST. That is stronger price transparency, even though the item itself cost more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"checkout\">JB Hi\u2011Fi stages the work and validates it precisely<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JB Hi\u2011Fi exposed a breadcrumb from Cart through Customer and Shipping, Shipping and Payment. The first guest step kept PayPal express separate, repeated the $519 total and GST component, and left marketing and \u201csave this information\u201d unselected. An empty Continue attempt produced specific inline errors and placed focus on email. Entering <code>ux.audit@example.com<\/code> cleared that error before focus moved to First name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-uxa-screenshot\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uxrobot.ai\/ux-audits\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/jb-hi-fi-vs-harvey-norman-jb-errors-scaled.png\" alt=\"JB Hi\u2011Fi checkout showing specific required-field errors and the Nintendo Switch order summary\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The staged form keeps the order summary visible and gives a specific recovery path.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvey Norman separated Guest checkout from Customer login, but then presented address, email, phone, delivery, payment and order review on the same page. The order summary remained visible and Place order stayed disabled. A local password-manager overlay prevented a trustworthy recovery test; a clean automated retry hit the site\u2019s security challenge. Those are environment limitations, so no validation defect is attributed to Harvey Norman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-uxa-round-winner has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><p class=\"uxa-kicker wp-block-paragraph\">Round winner \/ JB Hi\u2011Fi<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its staged form reduces simultaneous decisions and the tested validation recovers cleanly.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"performance\">Harvey Norman has the faster phone field record; both need interaction work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uxa-metric-grid\" aria-label=\"JB Hi\u2011Fi and Harvey Norman phone Core Web Vitals comparison\">\n    <div class=\"uxa-metric\"><span class=\"uxa-kicker\">JB Hi\u2011Fi \/ exact page<\/span><strong>3.10s<\/strong><span>LCP \u00b7 needs improvement<\/span><strong>296ms<\/strong><span>INP \u00b7 needs improvement<\/span><strong>0.10<\/strong><span>CLS \u00b7 good<\/span><\/div>\n    <div class=\"uxa-metric\"><span class=\"uxa-kicker\">Harvey Norman \/ whole origin<\/span><strong>1.82s<\/strong><span>LCP \u00b7 good<\/span><strong>287ms<\/strong><span>INP \u00b7 needs improvement<\/span><strong>0.07<\/strong><span>CLS \u00b7 good<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These p75 phone Chrome UX Report records cover JB Hi\u2011Fi\u2019s exact product URL and qualifying pages across Harvey Norman\u2019s public origin from 30 August to 26 September 2026. Because the scopes differ, this is not a direct page race. JB Hi\u2011Fi misses the good loading and interaction thresholds; Harvey Norman\u2019s public origin loads and stays stable well, but interaction still needs improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The configured mobile PageSpeed run scored JB Hi\u2011Fi 80 for accessibility and 50 for best practices. Findings included low contrast, an untitled frame, skipped headings, an unlabelled checkbox, unnamed payment links and disabled zoom; performance diagnostics also identified render-blocking requests, unused JavaScript and a large payload. Harvey Norman\u2019s configured run returned <code>NO_FCP<\/code> twice, so no lab score is reported. That verified lab limitation does not erase its available field record or the direct journey evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"heuristics\">All ten Nielsen usability heuristics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uxa-principle-review\">\n    <div class=\"uxa-principle-review__item\"><span class=\"uxa-kicker\">01 \/ Visibility of system status<\/span><h3>Keep fulfilment state in the summary.<\/h3><p>Harvey Norman confirmed postcode, timing and price;
